A PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
  by USCCB

O God, who wills not the death of a sinner, but rather that he be converted and live, grant we beseech You, through the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, ever Virgin, Saint Joseph, her spouse, Blessed Junipero Serra, and all the saints, an increase of laborers for Your church, fellow laborers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls, through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the Unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

BLESSED JUNIPERO SERRA CELEBRATED
  by A VIGIL MASS

This year the Feast Day of Blessed Junipero Serra was celebrated with a Vigil Mass. The Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Sacred Heart Church with a reception at the St. Patrick’s Hall.

Many Members from Southwest Houston, Friendswood, and Spring 1960 area Serra Clubs were able to attend this year. Also attending were the following visiting clergy: Archbishop Fiorenza, Father Cahill, and Fr. Dat, Diocese Vocation Director, and local clergy attending was Fr. Bok, Father E.J. Stein and visiting Franciscan Brother Michael. Special thank you to Dolores Jensen who organized the reception, and the members who brought plenty of food for a wonderful reception. Thanks to our liturgy coordinator, Deacon Sam Dell’Olio, for his dedication and service to the Serra Club liturgies. Thanks also to Jeneane Champaigne, pianist, and Clarence Cantini for cantoring at the Mass. What a beautiful occasion for Diocesan Serrans to be able to come together to celebrate Blessed Junipero Serra Feast Day, and to gather together to pray for an increase in vocations.
